Sharps must be in an empty plastic detergent bottle or bleach bottle. Screw the lid shut, tape over it and label it "SHARPS." Sharps containers purchased at a pharmacy may also be used. Coffee cans, plastic milk jugs, plastic bags, soda bottles will not be accepted.
It is against the law in the state of California to dispose of sharps in the household trash.
