Sharps must be in a sharps container or a 1 quart (or smaller) hard sided plastic container with a lid, such as a laundry detergent or bleach bottle. Tape the container shut. Put containers into the drop box. If your container is too large for the drop box, please go to the health department front desk located on the 2nd floor during business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2pm or call 617-665-3800.
It is against the law in the state of Massachusetts to dispose of sharps in the household trash.
